The Kings County Farm Bureau announced Wednesday that it is endorsing Assemblyman Rudy Salas, D-Bakersfield, for re-election. The announcement is that latest in a list of Kings County endorsements Salas has racked up in his race against Republican challenger Pedro Rios.
"Assemblyman Salas understands our issues and seeks input before making decisions that impact agriculture," said Dino Giacomazzi, farm bureau president. "We are confident he will continue to work hard and advocate for the largest industry in the Valley." Salas is endorsed by Kings County supervisors Doug Verboon, Tony Barba, Richard Valle and Richard Fagundes. Salas has also been endorsed by Kings County Sheriff Dave Robinson. Salas faced off against Rios in 2012 and beat him 53 percent-to-47 percent.
