Fighting for water

Assemblymember Salas continues to fight for investments to improve our water system’s infrastructure and management to move water more efficiently through the Central Valley; he empowered our local water districts with the funding tools needed to improve groundwater management and streamlined government for local agencies to operate more effectively.

Keeping Communities Safe

Assemblymember Salas has prioritized safe routes to schools by designating a portion of State Route 184 adjacent to Sunset Middle School as a school Zone, protected families from potential gas leaks like the one experienced in Arvin, and he secured $5 Million in state funds to improve public safety services.

Investing in Our Community and Our Workers

Assemblymember Salas led the fight for much needed funding for the state’s developmental disabilities services system and has ensured access to healthcare by establishing the Kern County Hospital Authority to enhance the quality of care and better serve the community.
